Tom began his municipal market career in 1994 at Merrill Lynch, where he was Senior Vice President in the Institutional Advisory Division. He has extensive experience working with insurance companies, mutual funds, bank trust departments and broker-dealers, as well as managing individual tax-exempt and taxable fixed income portfolios for high net worth individuals and families. Tom founded Riverbend Capital driven by his vision for municipal market opportunities and his unwavering commitment to serving clients' best interests.

A native of Greater Boston, Tom holds a B.A. in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross and an M.B.A. in Finance/Marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Tom resides with his wife and five children in Glencoe, Illinois.

An accomplished municipal professional, Tim’s career spans three decades. Prior to Riverbend, he was Director of Municipal Fixed Income at the Northern Trust Company for over 15 years. Tim is motivated daily by a dynamic market, serving clients, and delivering custom high-quality performance. At Riverbend Capital Advisors, Tim oversees investment strategies, manages portfolios, and contributes to business development. He believes an unwavering work ethic, teamwork, and integrity are key Riverbend characteristics which truly make a unique difference for its clients in the municipal market.

Tim earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Indiana University and is a CFA® charterholder, CFA Institute. He was honored by Institutional Investor as a two-time winner of Municipal Fixed Income Manager of the Year Award and has served multiple advisory terms on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB).

Tim enjoys time spent with family from his wife and three children to many other relatives around the country, some extending into Canada.

Formerly with Guaranteed Rate Affinity in Chicago where she was Sales Assistant/Business Development Manager, Ioanna brings a wealth of experience in managing client relationships, communications, digital marketing and identifying business opportunities.

Prior to Guaranteed Rate, she held leadership roles at Sears Holdings and Performics/Google.

Ioanna received her B.A. from DePaul University in Chicago and resides in Glenview, Illinois with her family.

Originally from Wilmette, Illinois, Charlie is a graduate of Santa Clara University, earning his bachelor’s degree in finance from the Leavey School of Business.

Charlie joined Riverbend in 2023 and is responsible for supporting trading and portfolio management. He assists with security selection and trade processing. Charlie also performs credit research and analysis, ensuring credits within client portfolios are of the highest quality given their desired level of risk.

Charlie is a passionate tennis player. He regularly competes in local tournaments and has been playing since he was four years old. Additionally, Charlie is an avid reader with a particular interest in biographies. He lives in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago.
